Athletics is one of the oldest and most popular forms of sport in the world, forming the core of international competitions such as the Olympic Games. It consists of a wide variety of events divided mainly into track events, field events, and combined events.
Track events focus on running races like sprints, middle-distance, long-distance, hurdles, and relays.
Field events include jumping and throwing disciplines that test strength, balance, and technique.
Combined events, such as decathlon and heptathlon, challenge athletes across multiple disciplines.
Athletics helps improve cardiovascular health, stamina, agility, and coordination. It is suitable for all age groups and serves as the foundation for most other sports.
